Electric furnace magnesium carbon bricks

For different converter smelting processes, the refractory lining of various converter sections is manufactured using electrofused magnesia and graphite as primary raw materials, bonded with phenolic resin and supplemented with a specific amount of antioxidants. The material undergoes hot mixing, high-pressure forming, and heat treatment. To enhance oxidation resistance and temperature tolerance, anti-oxidants such as metals and carbides are commonly added. Carbon exhibits excellent thermal conductivity and a low thermal expansion coefficient. Its large contact angle with molten slag effectively prevents slag penetration, thereby minimizing thermal spalling and structural delamination. Primarily used in electric furnace linings where direct contact with molten steel and slag occurs, this product offers high strength, superior slag resistance, excellent thermal shock stability, and high refractoriness. Different grades of magnesia-carbon bricks are selected for various furnace sections based on smelting conditions.
